Spend money to make money

Over 2,000 years ago the great Roman playwright Plautus said “You must spend money to make money”

Is this true? Is the only way to make it in this world to have money to start with?  Of course it’s not always the case but what you do need are strategies, people and tools that can help you get you to where you, and your organisation, need to be.

One of the things we hear when talking to customers is “I need to cut cost out of my business – so I don’t have the money to spend on new tools.”

Usually there are two reasons that people look at LINQ:

The first is they have been told that LINQ can help them cut operational costs.  LINQ can do this by easily identifying areas within the business that are unnecessarily complex.  Complexity equals cost – so if you can simplify what you do then it costs less. You can read more about that here.

The second is that they are either starting a period of transformational change and need to gain a current state view, or they are in the midst of a transformational project and are finding that their current toolset isn’t delivering what they need to help them make decisions. LINQ helps identify the most valuable information assets and the people, systems and actions involved.  Once these areas are identified then change decisions can be made, communicated and justified and be focused on the areas of greatest impact.

Information Value

And just how much of an impact can using LINQ in the most frustrating parts of your business return?  How about 10:1?

For as little as $20,000, LINQ’s customers have identified over $200,000 of waste within the first 3 months. We’ve done some work on how much it costs to develop a business case without, and with LINQ, and you can see the results here.

And that’s just the beginning…
